A word of advice to those ladies who would not like to be caught walking without their panties on: get a spare pair.  Turns out that in Brisbane there is a snatch thief with a new twist to an old modus operandi: get your victim distracted before you commit any robbery.  This mugger apparently comes up from behind a woman, reaches under her skirt, and tears off her underpants.  The poor woman gets into such a state of mind she is not aware of what is happening.  By the time she comes to her senses,  her handbag is missing.  More of this here.
