These Are Cruel Times

Imagine. You wake up with a start this Monday morning and glance at your alarm clock. OMG IT’S LATE!! You rush to the bathroom and have a quick leak. No time for a shower. You give a quick one-two rub across the teeth with a toothpaste covered toothbrush, hoping the toothpaste will kill off the morning breath, take a quick rinse in the mouth pull on your pants and run, shirt half-buttoned, to the car, then back again to the house as you remember your briefcase down the hallway, back again to the car, half cursing because the car starts up only after 3 desperate twists of the ignition key. You speed down the driveway to your street and join the highway to your office.

Damn. The road is jammed. The boss wasn’t too happy at your being late last week and he sure won’t be happy today. Is your job going to be there waiting for you?
